Introduction
LIBRIS houses a collection of approximately 365,000 volumes and subscribes to about 1,000 journals, with a strong emphasis on education. Members are encouraged to make full use of the wide range of library and information services. More information about library resources and services can be found on the LIBRIS Website.
Registration / Membership
NTU staff and students are required to register at the Membership and Loan Services Counter with their staff / matric card, as the LIBRIS system is independent of NTU's. Part-time teaching staff must register with their letter of appointment (with an end date of appointment) and a photograph (IC size).
Membership registration at the counter is only available Monday - Friday from 8.30am - 4.30pm.
Library Membership Number & Pin
Members are required to key in their library membership number and PIN when accessing some of the services available on the WebOPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue). These services include viewing of borrower information / holds / outstanding balance, cancellation of holds and loan renewals. For full-time staff, the membership number is your NRIC or FIN number. For part-time teaching staff, the membership number is the barcode number on your library card. The PIN assigned to all members is the last 4 alphanumeric characters of their NRIC or FIN. You are strongly advised to change the assigned PIN using the WebOPAC.

Library Notifications
Members will receive library notifications by e-mail. It is the responsibility of members to keep track of the due dates of their loans by checking their records regularly through the
WebOPAC. After logging into your account, you may view / renew items borrowed, cancel holds and check for outstanding fines. Non-receipt of reminder is not a valid reason for waiver of fines, if any.
General Library Rules
- Pagers and handphones should be switched to silent or off mode. Only SMS is allowed.
